Ben was born in Athens, Georgia and grew up in North and South Carolina, returning to Georgia when he was 12 years old. After graduating high school, he attended Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, graduating with a Doctorate of Medicine. After training as an Obstetrician-Gynecologist in Delaware, he practiced medicine in Georgia before moving to North Carolina. He moved to Charlotte in 2013 and retired from his full-time medical practice in 2018.

His interest in real estate began in his early 20’s when he purchased his first home, a townhouse in Newark, Delaware. He had successive sales and purchases of homes several times over the next 2 decades as he moved from Delaware to Georgia to North Carolina. He had his first experience in commercial real estate when he purchased land and built a medical office building. Once he came to Charlotte, he began investing in residential real estate, gaining experience in the principles of property investing, as well as property management of both residential and commercial properties.

Cementing his passion for real estate, he completed formalized training as a real estate agent in early 2020, and has been focused on serving clients in the Charlotte area since then with his business partner, real estate inspiration, and wife, Tarah. Together, they created their own real estate firm, Team Horton Realty, LLC brokered by eXp Realty, LLC.

Ben enjoys building relationships with his clients and considers himself to be their Proactive Trusted Real Estate Advisor. His clients are more than just a transaction – many have become close personal friends through their shared experiences. He enjoys learning all that he can about his clients – their unique circumstances, individual needs and wants – all of the underlying reasons behind their decisions to buy or sell property. With this information, he is better able to serve them, helping them achieve their goals and improve their lives.

In his spare time, Ben enjoys travel, exploring new places, and learning about new cultures and experiences. He can also be found supporting Futbol Club Barcelona throughout the year as Founder and President of the local Barcelona Supporters Club.
